Nope Bruno Was just writing my 15 dreams in the Journal and was still in PCloshere it is OOPS B) [kamicota@localhost kamicota]$ suPassword:[root@localhost kamicota]# fdisk /dev/hdaThe number of cylinders for this disk is set to 4998.There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024,and could in certain setups cause problems with:1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO)2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs (e.g., DOS FDISK, OS/2 FDISK)Command (m for help):Colin :D

Back in Mandrake brunoSurprised there has never been "Root" available at log in only "kamicota" :D Colin B) :D

Posted

That means you did an auto-login Colin! That can be on the list of things to fix. Then again, not logging in as root is a good thing. Julia :D

Posted

Okay let us take care of that first then:Menu --> Configuratiion --> Configure your Desktop ------> System --> Login Manager. Push the "Administrator Mode" button and give your root password . . . . Then on the tab "users" take away the tick in the box in front of "root" . . ( leave "nobody" ticked ) . . . Apply . . . . And we are done !!:D Bruno

Posted

JuliaI am SURE I unchecked the box but now it seems like :D Colin B)

No you have no autologin . . but just only one choice of a login for the user and not as root . . . see my post above.:D Bruno
