Bruno Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Hi DaleI see that the "ln -s" commands I gave a few posts back did not do anything . . . I wonder why . . ( ? ? )Please do again: ( and let me see what you do and see in the console ) # ln -s  /home/dale/j2re1.4.2_06/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so  /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ # ln -s  /home/dale/j2re1.4.2_06/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so  /home/dale/firefox/plugins/ Both commands are just one line !Please copy and paste the commands and do not re-type them . . . Bruno Quote
longgone Posted November 7, 2004 Author Posted November 7, 2004 [root@localhost dale]# ln -s /home/dale/j2re1.4.2_06/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ln: `./plugins': File exists[root@localhost dale]# ln -s /home/dale/j2re1.4.2_06/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so/home/dale/firefox/plugins/ln: `./plugins': File exists[root@localhost dale]# Quote
Bruno Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Dale . . . . Those commands are NOT complete !!!!! . . you forgot the second part ! . . That is why I write that the commandss are one line. You need ALL that is in the box: # ln -s  /home/dale/j2re1.4.2_06/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so  /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ So also the "/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/" part makes part of that ONE command. ( you need a bigger monitor to see that it all is just one line ) Bruno Quote
longgone Posted November 7, 2004 Author Posted November 7, 2004 BRUNO....................They were and still are (in the consol) one line for each command ..... why it kicked it back to the left margin after the ln -s ............. I have no idea ... but they were entered as one line Quote
Bruno Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 NO DaleThis is the command you gave: [root@localhost dale]# ln -s /home/dale/j2re1.4.2_06/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ Adn it has to be: [root@localhost dale]# ln -s  /home/dale/j2re1.4.2_06/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so  /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ YOU FORGOT THE SPACE after oji.soB) Bruno Quote
Bruno Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 See the copmmand has 3 parts on one line ln -s/home/dale/j2re1.4.2_06/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/And there is a space between the 3 parts Quote
longgone Posted November 7, 2004 Author Posted November 7, 2004 AAAhhhhhhhhhhh.... now I see ....it just so happens that on my monitor (19") ... that the second line of your post is exactly where that space is at .. so I did not see it ... anyway[root@localhost dale]# ln -s /home/dale/j2re1.4.2_06/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/[root@localhost dale]# ln -s /home/dale/j2re1.4.2_06/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so /home/dale/firefox/plugins/[root@localhost dale]#here is the newest attempt......... Note that in the Quote
Bruno Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 What I would do Dale is make a new folder in Evolution and call it "Move" . . . then you copy all the mail you want to move to that folder.Next step: You open Thunderbird and make a new folder there too and also call it "Move" ( so exactly the same name as you gave it in Evolution ) and leave it empty to start with.Third step: $ cp /home/dale/evolution/local/Move/mbox /home/dale/.thunderbird/default.xyz/Mail/Local Folders/Move We will have to check the 3rd part of that command though before you give it, because the path they give has some oddeties in it ( I am pretty sure it is NOT correct ! ). . . . so tell me when you are at the point just before giving that command and I will have a look if we need to adapt it.:"> Bruno Quote
