striker Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 Question to all:What's your opinion about continuing this thread? Imo the distros nowadays are able to get almost every important printer going, whether it being a single printer or an AIO (or MFP), so there would be no need to keep this thread going. What's your opinion? Quote

Grogerf Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 (edited) Hallo Striker Now it's up, running & my main desktop Mandriva 2009 i586 powerpackTwo printers - both correctly identified & installed without any difficulty by the 'add new printer' routine after the distribution was installed.Epson Stylus Color 600 works 'out of the box'. OK it's old - but it still works fine (like me ). I installed 'mtink' manually through the MCC to monitor ink levels etc - it also works perfectly.HP Photosmart C4180 all in one printer, scanner, copier - printing, scanning, copying all work fine. HP Device Manager installed automatically does everything it should.Apart from installing mtink it was all done automagically Grogerf Edited February 3, 2009 by Grogerf Quote
