Hi ColinFor the updates: . . just open the MCC . . . Software . . . Media Manager and click on the "add" button then tick the box "security updates" ( last one on the right ) . . . . Then paste this in the URL box:

ftp://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/Mandrake/official/updates/10.0/RPMS

The tick the box "Relative Path to synthesis/hdlist" and paste this in that box:

../base/hdlist.cz

Then click OK and wait for the process to finish . . . . and press OK on the large window . . . this will bring you back to the 4 icons of the software management . . . Now press the "Updates" icon and when asked press "YES" to get the list . . . then tick a 3 boxes: "security" "bugfixes" and "normal updates" . . . . install them all.:w00t: Bruno

When I get a message like that it usually means there is an enter in the code where it should all be on one line. I suspect that if you could find line 477 you would find that is probably the case. I think editing the cod ewith that many lines might be a bit much. You could try removing and reinstalling that particular file. That is a tough call.

JuliaThank you :"> I think I will let WELL alone  for now.And now it is probably time to see what 2nd Distro to put onI tried PClos preview 5 a few days ago without success. So maybe will look at other options such as Mepis if I can find their correct download site. And then thanks to your advice I left the final 25g free on my hard drive and got MDK 10 installed :'( :D B)  Then after that is done will be the rescue Cd's to burn.Thank youColin :D
