News flash...penguin spotted at Nags Head...Where's Bruno? B)
Oh no, that means I have to travel five miles of beaches on my way home to figure out where he is taking a break!!!! Did you notice a mile post marker? Better yet, can you tell me where the palm trees are located. Can't pass up a penguin in Nags Head! What a sighting.

Believe somewhere around the Jeanette Pier...a school of bluefish were after him. B)

Is that why the aquarium bought the pier??? Watch out penguin, if it is not the fish, then it is the nets!________________________Concerned about the Penguin

PENGUIN doesn't need us anymore. I am heart-broken!!!!! B) Besides dear penguin, I was only worried about your safely. If that was you by the pier, I would be concerned lest they try to put you in the aquarium or if the schools of fish were after you. ;) ________________________________The Heart-broken Former Friend of a Penguin

Whenever I can, though I do not possess the wit, tact, and flair of the others. ;) You are an inspiration, however. :D Thanks for the invite. B)

Quint - you do pretty good yourself. What others say with a thousand words, you do with a single picture!!!What I want to know though, is how did you get the book off my desk to use at your avatar? B) Is my bookmark still on page 85? By tomorrow it will probably be double that! ;) _______________________Keeping fine company

Will return it on my next bluefishing excursion to the Outer Banks - such a beautiful area, such wonderful fish...I miss the ocean severely. :D Being born and raised on Long Island, N.Y., I took it for granted. :( :( Joni Mitchell once sang: "you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone..." You are great with the pictures. I did swing by the pier but I did not see Bruno there as I went from Roanoake Island to my part of the northern outer banks. The swimming today is a bit brisk - perfect for penguins and tourists, but I did my thing. :D It has been a great year for fishing...... Oh it must be a different book, mine is just the plain Linux for Dummies. I am up to 110 now. I did find the penguin. It looks like he couldn't handle the angels..... penguin.jpg_______________________Hitting the books

Julia, that was a great picture! We see ducks doing that at the ferry on the pilons all the time. Pretty cool looking and you must not have cut yourself or there would be blood on the picture so you learned to use those scissors well.Course the ducks aren't as smart, pretty daffy in fact :D Penguins are definitely cut from a different cloth than the ducks. They know much more about things like Linux than any duck I've seen.

You are very, very observant. I did not think anyone would notice I had fixed my hair. The shirt was an easy one to notice. Yes I suppose I can go back to the fuscia one tomorrow. LilBambi - glad you liked the picture..... we have lots of ducks around here but a Penguin would be a rare sighting! Glad to see you back in the water cooler. :DPenguin - just for you I played in Gimp and changed shirts. Edited by teacher

I guess  I need to be careful what I put here.  I would not want the penguin to get mad.  Next thing you know he will barge in here saying this is his thread.  I don't know why?  I think he scared away LilBambi and Sieb.  I have not seen them around for a day or two.  :(  I wonder what scared them away.  Maybe they had too much of the wine last weekend.  You saw what it did to GolfPro.  I have never seen anyone get that blasted.  :( _____________________Moderation pays off
I wish I could blame it on too much wine - have finally managed to find my way back to the water cooler.------------The swirling in the water cooler Sieb!

Hi Sieb Been on holidays have you ? You got yourself a nice tan . . . . . hope you did get a good rest, because it's wild here in the cooler. I''m just coming back from holidays in Bloom County myself, a special resort for overheated penguins, a grand place where all girls have curly hair and one is welcomed with flowers and herring. Got a bit in a mix-up there though, all these girls were called either Sieb, Fran or Julia. I tell you when you meet 10 girls who all say their name is Julia you do get slightly dizzy. But hey, I got used to it in the end . . . . "just act normal" is what I kept telling myself . . . . well that was the hardest part as you can imagine. But the mountain air, the herring and the lovely songs of the angels got me over the first fear fast enough. I''m totally my old self again now . . . and I promise to behave . . . :( :( The Back From The Betty Ford Clinic Penguin--------------------* Bacchus, n.: A convenient deity invented by the ancients as an excuse for getting drunk. -- Ambrose Bierce, "The Devil's Dictionary"

Well, my students have their last day of "class" today. Tomorrow and the next day are exams. Then we get to sit down and decide who we let come back, who we send to a "real" school, which 8th graders get to become 9th graders, etc. :(

¨Strange¨ as in ¨strangers¨, Julia. It was not about your lovely self I was on about, only about the unknown white dressed ladies, all calling themselves ¨Julia¨ with just one objective in mind; to seduce an innocent penguin. Surreal ? That´s the least you can say about this ! And did I give in ? I surely did what was expected of me . . . . . . . ;)Thanks Barry for your support and understanding :DB) The Smooth Talking Penguin

Teach gets to send the kids home for the summer. They all end up at my house! At least I always know where my kids are! :)We have a couple of weeks to go - still making up snow days.-------------------------The almost ready for summer Sieb

Sieb - Nothing beats knowing where your kids are and who they are with - other than a little peace and serenity! :( We just have a three ring circus with kids running between three houses - only now one is staying with us for the summer and two are in college so it is a two-ring circus. If they are not at one house, then they are at work or the other house. No one knocks on doors. They just walk in and go straight to the teenagers' rooms. Of course, there are signals like blinds open or closed to indicate whether someone is up for the day yet. :( I would not trade it for anything in the world. Our snow days are now teacher work days for the next two weeks. We have already made up the time, including one Saturday.BarryB - Thanks for providing the penguin with the much needed rest. It is so kind of you to think of him. I was worried about him - posting 24 hours a day.....Penguin - now that you are rested......__________________________Ready for Summer :(

So sweet of you all to be so concerned about my health, it was however not the 24hrs shift that nearly killed me, but I was suffering from a ¨Severe Conexant Syndrome¨ ( SCS ) an up till now undocumented non-fatal illness with wild spasm attacks, sudden heavy hair-loss and acute kernel-panics. Only an extreme high dose of shock therapy and a full kernel upgrade could give some relief. The Shocking Fit Penguin

Well, you're one lucky little ducky, penguin. I just happen to have the battery out of my old F-150, a pair of jumper cables and a booklet lent me by Dr. Earle called, "Electro-shock Therapy for Fun and Profit". I'm ready when you are. No, no...don't dry off. It's more effective when you're wet.

Let me add that to my arsenal of excuses: ¨Severe Conexant Syndrome¨ ( SCS ). Jeber - Chains said she would help with the cables.Penguin - what do you mean? "Heavy hair loss?" Have you lost your fur? Are you all exposed? Oh no, don't tell!___________________________Afraid to look
