Heh! I'm one of the three. Ah... the memories. Cassettes were hi-tech compared to 8Tracks. There was a trick to rewinding those, too. Anyone here remember that? ;)

I still have my albums and many cassettes, too. I only have one 8Track, though... Donovan's Greatest Hits. It's the only one of many to survive to this day. Unfortunately, I do not currently have a means to play this tape. However, I have it on CD these days. ;)

My first car stereo was a 4 channel 8 track player. Cost me $105 dollars, which was really expensive back in '73. Didn't have didn't have nothing fancy like ff or rewind. If you had a favorite, you played 'em all until it got to it.......You whippersnappers have no clue..... :)

No 8-Track players had REW. It wasn't physically possible due to the design for the single-spool tape holder. You could FF, though on some of them.

Oh, and the trick to fix an unstrung 8-Track is to pull on one leg of the tape and the internal spool would suck the tape back into the cartridge after a couple pulls. It was pretty neato how that worked.
