sunrat
Ok I confess, I listen to lots of music and watch lots of music videos, most of which don't quite fit the criteria for the Awesome Video thread. So here's a music video thread. I'll show you mine if you show me yours! Here's a couple that impressed me today: Alan Jackson,Jimmy Buffett - It's Five O' Clock Somewhere (love this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPCjC543llU Conduct Us: Improv Everywhere. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_cbnBak8RI
sunrat
It's been a whole half an hour since I last posted here, but this one had to go up. It started me listening to lots of country music again after seeing it on Nu Country TV a few weeks ago, Darius Rucker - Wagon Wheel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvKyBcCDOB4

Gus K
Do commercials count? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHrS_BonASA We also get to see Billy Gibbons' new, after market, ultra pearly whites.
sunrat
Do commercials count? Not really but I'll allow it coz it's ZZ Top. Besides which I have no idea what they were advertising. We also get to see Billy Gibbons' new, after market, ultra pearly whites. I want some like that too!
Gus K
http://www.jeremiahweed.com/ So does this one count? This was big during my HS years. White guys sounding black and aping Phil Spector's Wall of Sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlTPFERD8zs Is their name racist?
sunrat
Sorry, Gus, sounds too pale for me, being more familiar with the Wilson Pickett version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AqHxTpTcq8

sunrat
Nice and ballsy! I thought she must be related to Ann and Nancy, but no. Which reminds me of Heart doing Led Zeppelin in the presence of royalty (Page, Plant and Jones). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JK_DOJa99oo
Gus K
Well I tend to think of Music Videos as mini productions, rather than captured live performances. The Euro Dance Music Vids are usually very slick and sexy without being vulgar like many American ones these days. Scooter (a German band ) has many slick, wacky Vids, many could not be posted here though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyOklpQq-nU

sunrat
Eric Burdon and The Animals were one my favourite bands when I was a teenager. Unfortunately couldn't watch through the Nina Simone one as the audio sync was too far out. Ah ha covers. I'll see you and raise one A-Ha cover, Take On Me (Literal Version) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HE9OQ4FnkQ
abarbarian
Eric Burdon and The Animals were one my favourite bands when I was a teenager. I must be out of touch as I hardly know any of the tracks you folk are posting. I think Eric Burdon and the Animals were very underrated in their day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5IRI4oHKNU
sunrat
the "take me on" video is one of my fav's - someone finding escape into another world of their dreams. Of course the one above was not the original music. Just a humorous lyrical satire of the video. The original won six MTV awards in 1986. abarbarian
The original from 1966. Worth a watch for the comment from the presenter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHuwVwKHfjM Same band same song performed in 2009 at Maxwells, Hoboken, New Jersey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Stot_2-Lg6s Them were the days.
sunrat
The Pretty Things played at the Corner Hotel where I work earlier this year and they were great. A band of 60 something kids still rocking out. Nice bunch of blokes too.
