Nope is not relevantI can not see what is wrong with the server . . . . Let's stop for today and resume the search for solutions tomorrow.B) BrunoPS: Do you have a firewall configured ? Disable ( uncheck ) IP-tables + shorewall + mandi in the MCC under "System" --> "Manage system services" . . and also stop them from running ( stop button )Next try the ftp again from the PCLos box

Just out of interest Only set up Ftp - NOT the Web Server in MCC/Sharing OK
That is correct . . . we only need the ftp server.I think it's the firewall blocking traffic . . so here is what we will do about it:First this command as root:
# echo "hostname jupiter" >> /etc/rc.d/rc.local

And next: Disable ( uncheck ) IP-tables + shorewall + mandi in the MCC under "System" --> "Manage system services" . . . and reboot. After the reboot of the MDV computer check the IP-address and try again to access it from the PCLos computer.:"> Bruno

It should work with Gnome or KDE3 or KDE4 . . . . that should not make a difference.Tell me about the KVM switch . . . . it's only screen + keyboard and mouse is it ?? Both computers have a separate network cable do they ??B) Bruno

BrunoIn passing KDE 3.5??? allows me copy/paste etc in Home/Computer much better than KDE 4 as have not found how to do that. As at present am not too happy with PCLinuxOS Gnome.KVM = screen/keyboard/mouse ONLY and ISP provider is Telus Telephone ADSL cable into Wireless/Router and individual cables to MDV and PCLInuxOS computers B) Hope this was explained adewqautelyCheers for YearsColin B)

Sorry about that Colin . . . ;)Anyway . . you can do 2 things:1). Reinstall and reconfigure proftp in the MCC and hope it will behave better2). Install MDV 2008.1 ( the last version that had KDE3.5 ) . . . . the best MDV version so far.B) Bruno
