Okay, let us try this:

$ kdesu kwrite /etc/X11/xorg.conf

That will make it possible to edit that file . . make this change:

Section "Device" Identifier "device1" VendorName "nVidia Corporation" BoardName "NVIDIA GeForce FX to GeForce 8800" Driver "vesa" Option "DPMS" Option "DynamicTwinView" "false" Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals"EndSection
Save the file and reboot.:thumbsup: Bruno

Sure seems like it BrunoAm checking the screens on KDE/colin and KDE/kamicota to see if there is any loss with the "VESA" on colin to kamicota--->>>and they seem similar no real noticeable difference in the textNow looks like maybe time for ftp at some point in the future ehEven though both colin and kamicota has the numLock working without the light switched on but thats another storyCheers for yearsColin :thumbsup:

Hi Colin . . . . I have 2 questions before we start:- First let us decide on the names: I suggest "jupiter" for the 4600+ and "saturn" for the Quad.Are you okay with that ?- And, with what computer will we start configuring ?;) Bruno

BrunoJupiter and Saturn are just greatThink the quad might be best because both front USB ports work for the two external USB drivesBut otherwise am not too concernedCheers for yearsColin ;) Switching on the Quad now

Okay we open that file:

$ kdesu kwrite /etc/hosts

And change it to:

127.0.0.1		 jupiter localhost

When finished please show:

$ cat /etc/hosts

;) Bruno

Excellent . . . you can now reboot the quad and once rebooted you can install "drakwizard" and configure the ftp server with the servername "jupiter"Tomorrow we will do the same changes for "saturn" on the 4600+;) Bruno
