    • *sigh*   Just lazy. Don't want to spend an entire day sitting at this desk and gnashing teeth. 🥴
    • Just update it man!! You're more than capable of it. Backup your configs, reinstall and restore configs. I'm sure that there is an easy way to pack up your package list either. Then you can easily reinstall
    • It's FF 45.9.0 ESR... and NO, newest won't work on my older Slackware: wrong version of GTK and numerous libs that aren't up-to-par. I would end up in Dependency Heck. Been there, tried that before. And that was with V52. FF has changed a helluva lot since I tried that trick back in 2017.   I'll just have to face up to the fact that my ol' Slack 14.1 needs to be upgraded. I can kill Pulse Audio in 14.2 and stick with ALSA, but newer FF won't have sound, so... I guess once I upgrade, I'll just have to say good bye to ALSA. I'll miss it. I really didn't like P-Audio the short time I tested it when I first built this system.   Yes, originally, I installed Slack 14.2 on this machine, but dumped it because of P-Audio. I had forgotten all about the notification that FF had posted about newer FF only working with P-Audio. I recovered my 14.1 installation from a mirrored disk and that's where I've been ever since... living in the past.     Yes, that's how I install Flash on my systems, also. Unfortunately, Flash Test sites did not recognize the newest version when I did that. Stated: "No Flash detected."   Getting harder to find sites with Flash? You don't surf porn, huh? HA! Just kidding. ;)
    • How old is your browser? You know you can download the latest Firefox tarball and just run it directly from a folder in your HOME.   I just installed 32.0.0.293 by downloading the npapi tarball and moving libflashplayer.so to ~/.mozilla/plugins/ , seems to work ok. It's getting harder to find sites that use Flash these days to even test it! Thank ${deity}.   Score from that htmltest site is 508/555, FF70.0.1
    • HA! Fun with Phonics. I remember that well. That's how it was taught in my elementary school, also. Fortunately for me, my mother had taught me how to read and write before I ever started school. Unfortunately for me, it made those classes in 1st though 5th or 6th grades very boring. I still got straight A's, though.
