I wasn't a big Winnie the Pooh fan as a child, but I've always liked Tigger.

as a dad, loved reading them to my kids!

Yo, Temmu... when you read to your little ones, do you read in all lower-case with no punctuation? Just curious.... ;)

as a child, i loved the pooh bear stories & their tv cartoons.

my favorite was pooh bear stuck in rabbit's hole, gorging himself on honey. (which didn't make him thinner...) :D

When I was very young (back in the dark ages), Jimmy Stewart (yes, that one) made a terriffic recording of two of the Pooh stories. He did all the voices for the different characters and was wonderful! I listened to those records until they wore out--nearly drove my mother crazy. My grandmother had read me all the stories, but no one did it like Jimmy Stewart. Edited by ebrke

I don't want to talk about pollen ...

Pollen? HAHAHA! I have orange and brown "snow drifts" of the stuff all over my yard right now. Even the cats are sneezing. ;)

Nor do I. I just read an article by a doctor (allergist, I'm sure) that "untreated allergies can cause disease". He claims sinus disease and several other unpleasant things can/will occur to those who resist treatment for allergies. As someone highly resistant to taking medications, I'm trying to regard this as a specialist trying to drum up business for his particular field. Edited by ebrke

Click on the picture to go to this page. Also shows a budding acorn.

On warm, spring days, sometimes you can write your name on the windows of your car in all the pollen. A sudden gust of wind disgorges yellow clouds from the oak woodland. During other springs, the days can go on andon with constant cold drizzle, washing the pollen into the ground. For wind-pollinated oaks, a cloudy, wet spring can mean most flowers never catch the pollen they need to swell into acorns. A sunny, hot spring often means many acorns that fall. Walt Koenig has studied the relationship between warm spring weather and acorn abundance in the following fall. Studies underway at Hastings show that most oaks have a great abundance of flowers and they seem to develop normally. Generally, there are more than enough flowers to grow into acorns and provide adequate seeds for saplings to sustain a stable population of oaks.

Up until last week, every time the wind would blow we had a golden brown rain of oak flowers falling.

Now we have heaps of rotting oak flowers everywhere. I don't mean me, I mean my entire city, which VTEL shares.

The rain yesterday helped get it out of the air, but now it is just a nice brown mush everywhere.
