striker
Assuming you're using Firefox 3.0.x :Edit > PreferencesTab Content:- enable javascript : checkedTab Privacy : section cookies- accept cookies from sites : checked- keep until drop down box : I close firefoxTab Privacy : section private data- click settings buttonClear Private Data window opens: - uncheck Cookies - always clear my private data when I close Firefox : checkedClose Firefox.Reopen Firefox and go to http://forums.scotsnewsletter.com/You should be automatically logged in.Tested this on openSUSE 11 / Gnome with FF 3.0.1Notes:1) if you have another version of FF please yell, I also have 2.0.0.16 installed under MDV 2008.1 / KDE 3.5.92) there are other configurations possible I think, making use of the 'store password for sites' function in combinaton with the above cookie settings. One may play with these. HTH

Scot
I know you're getting a lot of direction form a lot of sides, Dale. I agree with Striker's suggestions. It was where I was going next. One variable I'd like you to consider is upgrading to FF3. I don't think it's the cause of the problem, but it would help us in working with you to diagnose it. This is a personal preference, I realize. But it's also just good practice with a browser -- something that's inherently vulnerable (even on Linux) -- to stay current with the latest release. My two cents, of course. But the main reason is just to make it so all of the rest of us can communicate with you about what settings you've got.We want to help. And I'm just trying to figure out how this could happen. It could be happening to others too.-- Scot

mlangdn
I changed my email to my gmail account. While waiting too long for the validation email. I checked gmail's spam and there it was. I unflagged it first as spam, then followed the validation process. Gmail works where Bellsouth does not. Once I get another solution for internet, (there is a wireless solution under construction) I will be done with Bellsouth.
