This was with pclos tr3 lived cd running in ram, the only way I could get it to boot. :ermm: Its on the same rig as above with a milder oc from 3.6 down to 3.4 which is the everyday freq I run it at. Amazing its 3 seconds faster on linux running in RAM!

I will do a run @ 4ghz just to see how far below 10 seconds I can get, but that is a far as I can push this e8400 on an air cooler. It isn't 24/7 stable but I can get a super pi run in. Bruno you running that Q6600 @ stock?

Anil those numbers for my hardware aren't exactly correct. The cpu was running 3.4 GHZ, and with 4 gb of DDR2 running at 1066 with highly tweaked timings. The ram speed would be the most important factor in PI runs. :D I don't know if PI was using all 4mb as PCLOS is a 32 bit distro. I hope to break that record soon, I have an i7 920 and 6gb of DDR3 on its way right now. My first quad core!! :hysterical: Should be here mid week, and after I get things tweaked and burned in I will hopefully be able to get a distro to boot, and can post the new results.

Good as can be expected. I am still in business even though the economy is horrible, and the construction business is really hard hit.
Yep, it's not getting any better yet.
