wibblewobble
OK I thought of a windowmaker question. When I start chrome, I don't get a dockable appicon produced, so I can't dock it in the clip like I do with firefox. Is there a fix for this? Is there a way to add an appicon somehow? Other programs produce an appicon when started but for some reason chrome doesn't. Edited August 27 by wibblewobble

Ha, while searching I found this reddit post and abarbarian answered it there (which gives a link to here lol) https://www.reddit.com/r/windowmaker/comments/1d1hhol/how_come_only_some_programs_can_be_dockable_icons/ 1

wibblewobble
Great, that worked perfectly! Right click the title bar of the app window and select -- > Attributes From Attributes click the drop down at the top and change it to "Advanced Options" From there, select "Emulate Application Icon" -- then hit "apply" and "save" and restart the app --boom, app icon in the dock. You can drag it around wherever you need. Works great with chrome. Thanks to the rocket scientist who answered! Of course the later versions of e are a lot more polished! Terminology is a nice job too, worth looking at https://www.enlightenment.org/about-terminology.md I had several goes at E (not the rave drug) back in the day but it kept on crashing so I eventually gave up on it. I was quite taken with terminology and posted about it way back in 2013. https://forums.scotsnewsletter.com/index.php?/topic/42331-e17-or-enlightenment-easter-eggs/&do=findComment&comment=371396 It was an AUR offering back then however it is now in the Extra section of official Arch programs. https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/terminology/ Interestingly it only has two dependencies for install and only one needed to run which is very unusual. The man page shows just how impressive a program it is. Too much for my simple needs these days but I remain impressed. https://man.archlinux.org/man/terminology.1.en Now folks will you please get my Window Maker thread back on track

Joel
Being a loooong time user of Window Maker, I didn't expect to learn much reading the first page URL list. I was badly wrong! Thanks a lot for maintaining it @abarbarian.

If you have any good themes or tips to share don't be shy. They laughed at me but look there are now three of us dedicated Window Maker users. Only another several million users and we will have saved the planets sanity and done our bit for global warming too. 1

It checks a lot of MY boxes, but others are a better fit for me...at least in the present time. But I do continue to keep an eye on WM as a possible fallback option, if needed. Glad your WM evangelizing has attracted other moths to your flame. But let's not forget...us BATL "lifers" are your people too, right?! LOL! 1
