Yeah, I was peeved for about 30 seconds, too. But how could one stay mad at Bruno, my main mentor in learning Linux. Also, it may have been a great idea for Dell anyway. Where else can you find install mania like at ATL. ;) B) Guaranteed to find bugs and "issues". You know how we all like to push and tweak our Linux till it's just perfect! B) B)

you got me. pffft.
Yes, me too, I even sent my address to Bruno twice because I did not provide the complete one the first time! I naively supposed that the reason Bruno was being a conduit for the info was because he would supposedly have contact with people who might be in a position to be interested and I fully expected an inquiry from Dell before they sent anything . . . ;) However, I guess considering the stupendous amount of help he has provided me, I can hardly complain B) As I mentioned previously, Linspire loaded computers at Fry's never did sell, but some Linux OS's these days are so much more advanced that it does not seem impossible that some major company may venture into the field again. I am probably dreaming, but with the vast outcry about Vista and its deficiencies, I surely hope Linux does get an unanticipated boost from MS! But then again, probably not. Computers have become like cars; everyone has one but most people don't have a clue as to how they work . . . so they are not inclined to try something new. And for sure the store personnel know nothing about Linux; most have never even heard of Open Office; I saw a Windows forum post the other day where someone had found a link that charged you $9.95 for the privilege of downloading Open Office and they were so excited they had done it and were raving on about how neat and "inexpensive" OO was! I was astounded that anyone would actually sell OO; I knew about it long before I started messing with Linux.Just wondering, was the post about PCLos 0.94 possibly being available last Sunday also a joke? How 'bout that Bruno? Did I fall for another one? Or do you have some info on 0.94 release? Bill

As near as I can surmise from the dev list(where there has been much churn), they are close..still have some minor bugs they are trying to clear out,,,updates have been quiet for a few days...so I am assuming ( yeah I know..but based on historical observation)they are either finalizing either TR4 or 2007 final. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if TR4 did come out..but then gain if Texstar is comfortable with Tr3 + upgrades/updates.......either way..it's still win win...I think Bruno's next sunday, was meant to be this sunday(Easter) vs last sunday( At least that's how I read it... :D )

LOL . . . . it was more a decoy for the Dell joke. . . . Both the Dell topic and the PCLos=Sunday topic were started at the same time. I figured that saying it would be released on April 1st would make everyone think: "Sure, there is the fools joke of this year" . . . . . and there would be no suspicion on the Dell thread ;):D Bruno
