raymac46
The ships I travel across the Atlantic on are about 125,000 GT. That is about 3X the size of the Titanic. If you go across in the Springtime they normally take a south Atlantic route from Florida to the Azores (say) so you'll get calm seas and warm temperatures. Also we try to get a midships cabin which has less pitching motion. As far as roll is concerned the cruise ships have the stabilizers like aircraft carriers to keep the deck level. Anyway after a couple of days you get your sea legs and you don't even notice any motion. I have had far worse weather on a Caribbean cruise than I ever had crossing the Atlantic itself. This is a mid-Atlantic photo in May. Not too bad, eh? Here's one heading to the Caribbean from New York in November. A bit more invigorating. Guest LilBambi
Oh, yeah! Remind me never to take that trip to the Caribbean without looking at the projected weather!
V.T. Eric Layton
3 times the size of the Titanic? Oooh! It'll sink even faster. Caribbean in summer/fall is a serious no-no. Hurricane season.
Hedon James
Yeah... gotta' agree on this for sure. I'm not going to get my privates xray'd or get one of those fun cavity searches, either. We've agreed to give up all our liberties and dignity to have that little bit of security these days. It's borked up to the extreme. Meh...I tell 'em "I'm feeling a little constipated and just took a viagra...can we hurry it up a little?" Whether they accommodate or choose to verify the viagra statement, I'm still a winner.
