bjf123 Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 How about (ATM) “All things Macâ€Sounds good to me, but there's another Mac forum I frequent that's been around for years and is called the same thing (actually, it's All Things Macintosh, but they also use ATM). I doubt that it would be a problem, though. Quote

Ed_P Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 The poll was created to assess interest. Appears the interest is here Appears to be interest!!! 11 out of the approx 2100 members indicated they would contribute and an equal number indicated they would look at it less than once a month. Hardly a mandate. Quote

Hardly a mandate. Ah, come on, Ed...Add the six more people who would read but not contribute (I'm one of them, since I don't know anything about Macs). That makes Seventeen And out of 2100 members, how many are regular participants?? A couple of dozen?? At most??Personally, I believe their view are more important than the 10³+ people who only post when they have a problem Quote

Yes Ed, BUT, only 8 of those 2100 Members said they'd have nothing to do with it. 11 is greater than 8, so why not add one? :DBesides, if you don't care for the forum, there's no rule saying you have to enter it. greengeek Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 I'd love a Mac forum, I have four old Macs from a SE30 to a Performa6360 (I did say old!) and I'm saving up for a new (used) later model. I forget who said that you can't fiddle with the insides but you can, I installed more RAM in the Performa and I'm thinking of adding a larger hard drive, they're great old machines and they just don't die. Guest LilBambi Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 I agree Ryan ... anyone who doesn't wish to make use of a given Forum doesn't need to do so.Besides, there weren't all that many interested in ATL initially either. But look how that took off...thanks in no small part to Bruno and a lot of folks willing to become Linux Explorers! Quote
teacher Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 Whether or not I ever have opportunity to touch a Mac again, I can not say I know much about my profession if I do not keep my eyes open and pay attention to all the computer world to some degree and not just the PC side. Goodness, I only looked at Linux in case I would need to know something about it for work in the future and now I am hooked. If I had a Mac I could play with Linux on that as well. I think it will be great to have a Mac forum. --Julia Quote
Guest LilBambi Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 Arena2045 did a great job of bringing the new Mac forum online right on time ... 20th year of Mac birthday! Quote
