GOOOD !!! . . . Now we can run it as "user" . . . that is the first point scored !Now all you have to do is remember 2 commands ( without doing "su" first !!! ) to start the program:

$ cd eDonkey2000/$ ./runDonkey.sh

Apparently a symlink to runDonkey.sh does not work . . . nor the command "/home/dale/eDonkey2000/runDonkey.sh" . . . so a menu-entry is not possible, nor a desktop icon.B) BrunoPS: Your donkey has a bug according to the output you show . . . but if it runs without problems I would just ignore that fact :DSure the inpossebillity to make a shortcut is a BUG too ;)

B) ;) ................All that and it comes up with no shortcuts to use ... thats as bad as a hot dog with no mustard and onions .... guess I shall print that out for the future .....now a new question ... actually two but this one first ... at eDonkeys web site in the "Linux d/l portion there is a pkg for Debian, it is a gtk-gui .. graphical front end for eDonkey .. do you think it might work here in Xandros ..... also, I did several d/l yesterday in Xandros using eDonkey ,, they went to the file ./incoming .... I have searched in the hidden files and I don't find that file at all ....

Do an search for it:

$ find -type d -name incoming

And it will show where the incoming directory is . . ;)And sure you can use Debian packages . . . Xandros is based on DebianB) BrunoThink I hate the Donkey as much as Xandros ;)

Hi DaleQuint linked you to a .tar.gz file . . . how come you got the rpm ? . . . . A rpm is no good on a Debian based distro, so you better get either a .deb or the .tar.gz Quint linked you to.Note down the name of the file so you can do a search for it once it is downloaded. ;)OR: I seem to remember you have PCLos installed too . . . . . PCLos has Limewire installed by default, would that not be much easier ??;) Bruno

:ph34r: :) ............... Maybe .... although I am more inclined to think that this has something to do with the partition itself ... this partition is a "root" partition, there are no other partions on this Xandros OS install .. my reasoning for this is an error I keep getting saying that there is no "temp" folder/file although ther is a temp file/folder listed for ... /home/dale/eDonkey/temp ... or just /temp .... also that front end GUI I d/l for eDonkey is not for the eDonkey I d/l ... it is for the core utilities (might have that part messed up a bit) but the version I d/l was 1.2 and from what I can make out the Gui is for 1.1.2 .... anyhow .. at the moment it is not working as are a few other items ....... ;) grrrrrrrrrrr...........

:hmm: B) ........Back again ... d/l limewire into Xandros (tar.gz) got as far as moving it to usr/src .. and that is the end of the process .... cd gives me "not a directory" so , once again the tarball has me stuck ..... :( :(
