@HJ how is scanning support with Brother or Epson?

Correction - Epiphany browser doesn't work in Debian either as far as forum posts go - so it isn't an Arch issue exclusively.

Oracle released the scheduled update for its Java SE Runtime Environment software.  This is a critical security and bugfix update.     This Critical Patch Update contains nine new security patches for Oracle Java SE.  Eight of these vulnerabilities may be remotely exploitable without authentication, i.e., may be exploited over a network without requiring user credentials.    Java Security Recommendations 1) If Java is still installed on your computer, it is recommended that all updates be applied as soon as possible and older, less secure, versions uninstalled.   2) In the Java Control Panel, at minimum, set the security to high. 3) Keep Java disabled until needed.  Uncheck the box "Enable Java content in the browser" in the Java Control Panel.   Download Information: Java SE Runtime Environment Version 8u461: https://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp.   Release Notes

including Debian!  I have used the ArchWiki to troubleshoot Debian and Debian-based distros.  LOL!

not everyone has this issue, and even those that do may have different criteria.  but HP crossed an ethical line with me, and I will tell EVERYONE about them.  if you choose to continue doing business with them, at least you were fully informed.  and if they do anything else shady to YOU, maybe you'll catch them quicker.   I MUST print.  Moving to a world of PDF, but not there yet, and probably won't be before I retire.  In my mind, what HP has done is no different than PH Gladfelter or WB Mason (paper companies) taking a baseball bat to MY printer because I wasn't using THEIR paper, which costs 2x more than competitors.  It was deliberate, it was malicious, and it was forced upon me without knowledge nor consent.   If you're not affected, you're lucky.  To each his own....and I hear the multi-platform support argument.....i used to be that guy.  But allow me to reiterate that Brother and Epson also provide multi-platform support.  Our choices aren't as limited as we thought....as limited as they USED to be.  FWIW...
