Well done the beeb.

 

I am posting this here as many penguins are anime and fantasy fans.

 

If you would like to watch offline you could use get_iplayer like this to get the video,

 

get_iplayer --type=tv --pid=m001q211

 

As I want to listen to the concert whilst I am driving in the car I could use something like soundKnoverter to extract the sound from the video or I could use get_iplayer, I already have the terminal open. As I already have used "--pid=m001q211" I will get a warning

 

INFO: 'BBC Proms: 2023 - Northern Soul at the Proms (m001q211)' already in history (/home/bloodaxe/.get_iplayer/download_history) - use --force to override

 

So I would use this to download just the audio,

 

get_iplayer --type=tv --force --audio-only --pid=m001q211

 

Along with the tv episodes (first two links) the beeb did radio coverage of the events. These were almost an hour longer than the tv shows so instead of extracting the audio from the video I downloaded the radio shows using,

 

get_iplayer --type=radio --pid=m001nnsq

get_iplayer --type=radio --pid=m001pv2d

 

So now I am a happy bunny. I get to watch two great tv shows and get to listen to two even longer versions on my car sound system as I drive. This latter will come in very handy as I have two very long car journeys to undertake shortly.

 

Ai'nt life grand, well it would be if it was not so hot.

 

get_iplayer gives a warning when downloading.

 

WARNING: A UK TV licence is required to access BBC iPlayer TV content legally

 

Naturally I have a UK TV Licence.

 

I did all of the above whilst running my vpn routed through Paraguay.
