securitybreach Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 Well we used to keep the threads on topic but most of us are long time users so not as much moderating has to be done. 1 Quote
V.T. Eric Layton Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 As Josh says... We do have some rules here at Scot's, but staying on topic has never been one we harp or or enforce. Letting threads evolve in their own way is often very interesting. Besides, I always hated those tech forums where moderators would (figuratively) jump up and down while scolding you profusely for slipping sideways off the topic at hand. 3 Quote
V.T. Eric Layton Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 If Scot's had been more like the Debian Support Forums, I would have lasted here about as long as I did at Debian... 5 minutes or so. 2 Quote
ulfi Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 Yeah, you did need a fireproof suit on the old Debian forums sometimes. :-) 1 Quote
V.T. Eric Layton Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 You've been a member for a while here, @ulfi, but not too active. It's nice to see a "new" face occasionally. Those of us here on a regular basis (about 5 or 6 of us) get complacent sometimes. We forget that this is an open/public forum where everyone can participate. Good to see you back, anyway. Hope you stay for a while. 1 Quote

I was not complaining, just commenting with a positive connotation. 1 Quote

Look at my poor old Window Maker thread, deviation all over the place. How are folks expected to find useful stuff about Window Maker when there is all that extra stuff clogging up the works. Quote
