abarbarian Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 Watch Classic SpongeBob SquarePants Episodes From Your Terminal Quote spongebob-cli is a new CLI tool that allows you to kick back and relax with some classic episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants. Its only dependency seems to be mpv player and youtube-dl or yt-dlp which means it should work on both Linux and macOS ( right now, I don’t have access to a Mac to test it ). https://github.com/trakBan/spongebob-cli https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/spongebob-cli-git#comment-873122 Neat little tool. It would be nice if you could start the program from episode one and play through the list, then when you exit the program it saved the episode number you were currently playing, then started play from the episode number when next started up. Only problem I can see with the program is that it wastes too much of your valuable time. Quote

Even if the lessons are reminders of simple things that some folks may have forgotten. Can that truly be considered a waste of valuable time? Ima watch and call it "refresher education". LOL! Quote

Good point of view. I'll have to re watch all the episodes from a slightly different perspective to fully appreciate it. Quote
wa4chq Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 (edited) Though I've heard of Sponge Bob, I am not familiar with him. I grew up watching B/W Popeye cartoons. I'm am, however still watching Star Wars from my terminal and patiently await new episodes. Edited July 9, 2022 by wa4chq Quote

Episodes are only ten minutes or so. I too watched black and white Popeye cartoons, no choice really as we only had a black and white tv set back then. He is still alive and kicking today. 89 Years After Popeye’s Introduction, The Sailor Man Is Coming To YouTube https://archive.org/search.php?query=popeye+cartoons&sin=&sin= Quote

The original Popeye cartoons were great. The first TV I remember watching cartoons on was the Muntz my dad bought back in the late 50's. I know of Sponge Bob because my old boss had two kids that watched it. Maybe I'll check it out. 1 Quote
