Another leason learned the hardway.  18650 Lion batteries are the heart of most battery packs.  From laptop batteries to Tesla cars.  But if you see any that claim to have a capacity of over 3500 mah, then don't buy them!!  They are fake!  I wanted to build a external battery pack to give extra playing time to my HP laptop.  I found some 18650s on eBay that were rated at 9800 mah.  That is about double the laptop's battery rating.  And the price was great!  But I'm leary of buying on eBay, so I make sure the seller has been on eBay for a long time and has a rating of over 95%.  This seller fit the bill.  Unfortunately, the batteries didn't.  Their capacity was less than 10% of their rated capacity.  After doing some research, I found that most Chinese batteries being sold are fake.  Stick with Samsung, Panasonic, or LG batteries and from legit sellers.  There are even some with those brand names that are counterfiet.

I would definitely contact the seller first and complain and get your refund. If he doesn't satisfy you, then contact eBay directly and let them know. EBay is 100% safe to purchase from. They  GUARANTEE everything sold through their website regardless of who the seller is. I've been buying from eBay for twenty year now. I've never had an issue with  their sellers or their customer support.

I know that Eric.  I've written to the sellers to inform them of the scam, but i don't really feal justified in asking for my money back when I should have known better.  My stupidity, my loss.

I don't agree with you. If they were representing their product as something that it isn't, then that's their fault and you should have no qualms about getting a refund. However, choice is yours, of course. :)

The problem is that I bought them on eBay and it was several weeks before I discovered the problem.  And, if you ask for your money back too often, you can get a rep as a "bad buyer".  At this point, I'd rather just take the loss.🤢

You need to call out ripoff merchants. If there are no consequences or reprisals, they will just keep ripping off. What they did to you is a crime!
