raymac46 Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 I have used laptops over the years but I never have been a big fan of trackpads or touchpads. I plug in a mouse to move the cursor around. Often the touchpad gets in the way. If you have one of those newfangled precision touchpads, Windows 10 has a way to disable it already baked in. You can also do it in Ubuntu or Linux Mint using Touchpad Indicator. http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2018/04/install-touchpad-indicator-ubuntu-18-04-lts/ Or if you use GNOME3 you can add a GNOME Shell Extension to disable the trackpad. It's not a life changing feature, but I find it handy. 1 Quote
securitybreach Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Nice. Luckily HP laptops have a button you doubletap at the top left on their touchpads. Double-tab to disable and double-tap to enable. A little light turns orange on the touchpad if disabled. Quote
raymac46 Posted June 9, 2020 Author Posted June 9, 2020 Does that work with Linux as well - i.e. is it a hardware feature? Quote
