snminc Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Greetings to all, I've just installed pclos 2017.11 KDE 64 bit and cannot get pclos to talk to my new USB wifi a Netgear Ac1200. I pound the following steps on To build the driver, follow these steps at https://github.com/jurobystricky/Netgear-A6210 But have failed at the first hurdle. $ git clone https://github.com/jurobystricky/Netgear-A6210 $ cd Netgear-A6210 $ make $ sudo make install Any advice please? securitybreach Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Plus, I do not think that is the same device. Those instructions are for the Netgear A6210 and your device is a Netgear AC1200. Quote
securitybreach Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Also, it looks like that card may not work with PCLos but you could look for this (from archlinux): aur/rtl8812au_8821au_linux-dkms-git 4.3.14.r170.bed205c-1 [9+] [1.5%] [12 Feb 2018] Realtek 8812AU/8821AU USB WiFi driver for AC1200 (801.11ac) Wireless Dual-Band USB Adapter Quote
sunrat Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 What failed? Please post exact error messages when you tried this. Also post the output of lsusb so we can be sure exactly which chip is in the device. It's best to know the exact USB ID as manufacturers are known to change which chip they use. It's reported to work with that driver but with issues. There are several others on Github as well such as: https://github.com/Myria-de/mt7610u_wifi_sta_v3002_dpo_20130916 1 Quote
snminc Posted April 2, 2018 Author Posted April 2, 2018 My thanks for your replies. I have decided to concede defeat and have purchased a Linksys WUSB6300 instead. Quote
