abarbarian
I boot from the Porteus CD, Hey Eric..... would booting from a thumb drive be faster? Just wondering..... Yeah it runs great from a stick at least it did a few years ago. If I remember rightly you can add persistence to the stick too.
wa4chq
I boot from the Porteus CD, Hey Eric..... would booting from a thumb drive be faster? Just wondering..... Yeah it runs great from a stick at least it did a few years ago. If I remember rightly you can add persistence to the stick too. It does, which is nice. I think a few live versions are doing it now. One of the guys on the ArchBang forums came up with a script called Munch that turned a live AB iso into a persistence version. This was a few years ago. I had started using i3wm on ArchBang and what was cool was he had a live version called "achi3" which loaded to a thumb drive, had persistence and used i3 as its window manager. Pacman worked so if you didn't like tiling wm's you could change it. I kept it for a while using it for fun mainly and have since reused the drive for something else....possibly something like this maybe?? http://alien.slackbook.org/blog/slackware-live-edition/ Edited December 23, 2016 by wa4chq
