I open a PDF for reference purposes almost every day for several weeks now. A couple of weeks ago when I opened it the right side of the page was cut off. I spent too much time trying to figure out what was wrong, and could not figure it out. I finally copied a new fresh copy of the pdf from a flash drive and that worked fine. Until tonight. Now it is cut off on the right side of the page too. So I again just copied the original PDF file from the flash drive so I keep working. I am only viewing the PDF, scrolling up and down, going full screen, and turning the side thumbnails off.

What is causing the right side of the PDF to be cut off?

No idea. I have never seen this happen.

Are you using Preview for viewing the PDF? Or did you install Adobe Reader?

He mentions Preview in his title then in his post

Preview version 8.1 (877.7)
states the version used.

That is the current version of Preview.

I would try to install another PDF reader and see what happens with that.

Word to the wise. Don't let any of the third party PDF readers become default. Most PDFs work fine with Preview and it is much lighter and quicker to open than any other PDF reader.
