lewmur
7" tablets for under $50 have been around for a while. But name brand one with a quad core Atom CPU for just over $36? When I saw this on eBay, I had to buy it to see how it works. Even though I need another 7" tablet about as much as I need another headache. Others might complain that it has lousy resolution but my poor eyes can't tell the difference on a 7" tablet. All I know is that it rates over 30,000 on the Antutu benchmark and browses the internet as fast as top of the line tablets. Its only real lack, IMHO, is a rear facing camera.
zlim
I bought a cheap tablet the day after Thanksgiving last year but when I could not install 3 apps from the google play store because I kept getting, "this app is not supported on this device", I returned it for a full refund. I might not have the apps correct but I'm pretty sure one was my local weather app, one was Malwarebytes, and the other was Titantv. (Note: Titantv no longer works on Android so I have to open my browser and head to the site). For me, cheap doesn't mean something that is usable for my purposes. If I can't install the googleplay apps I want, I don't want the device. I'm very happy with my 7" ASUS MeMo. Because of the size of my handbag and my hands, buying a larger tablet is not practical. YMMV

YMMV The vast majority of times when apps from Google Play Store fail to work it is because the tablet has 512mb or less RAM. This tablet has a full 1gb so that shouln't be a problem. If there are particular apps you'd like to test, I'd be happy to do so. I've already tested Malwarebytes and it works. Thats the pond price difference taxing affair. :'(

lewmur
I'm a real sucker for a deal. I don't really want a Windows tablet but when I saw a Win8.1 10" Atom quad core tablet for $72 including shipping, I couldn't resist. I'll let you know how it works when I get it.
lewmur
Got an iPad 3 in very good condition, with charger and cable, for $135 from Cowboom. For that price even I'll give Apple a try. So far I'm underwhelmed. That may be just because I've yet to discover some amazing things that it will do but as of now its not up to par with my Galaxy Tab Pro. Even though the Tab Pro is 10.1" as opposed to the iPad 9.7", the Tab is both smaller and lighter and just as snappy launching and running apps or browsing. While I've yet to fail finding an app that I need on the Tab, the iPad doesn't seem to have an app like Google Hangouts dialer to make outgoing phone call via wifi. Nor is there an app for my MagicJack. I already have Hulu and Netflix for movies and Scribd and Kindle Unlimited for books so I'm not going to pay Apple for movies or books. I've also read through the thread about Apple Store apps and nothing there really peeks my interest. Ho Hum. So now I have an iPad, several Androids and a Windows 10 tablet and still like the Androids the most. Guest LilBambi
iPad 3 is old these days. That could be why you are underwhelmed. Everything would be VERY heavy on it.

You don't get "new" for $135. But the Tab Pro isn't "new" either.
Guest LilBambi
The iPad 3 is running what version of iOS? It came with iOS 5.1 (can go to current iOS 9.x). What version is the Tab Pro running? It came with KitKat (can go to current?) Just asking ... iOS 5.1 system running iOS 9.1 would run very slow. The iPad is running 9.1 and the Tab is running CM's 5.1.1 The iPad isn't running slow. It just isn't any faster than the Tab which has an Antutu benchmark of close to 40,000. edit: If iOS 9 is slowing your iPad, you can always turn off the new features that are adding to the overhead. zlim
Galaxy Tab Pro is scheduled for Lollipop, not the latest by the end of 2015. Scroll down for tablets http://samsung.youmobile.org/

Scroll down for tablets http://samsung.youmobile.org/ It is already out for the TM900 12" model. But I prefer the CynagenMod ROMs which are available for all three models.
