Arena2045 Posted June 9, 2004 Author Posted June 9, 2004 I like the purple - can't stand the green - just yuckyAre you upgrading the forum to 2.0 when it comes out final? Lots of nice things about it and great features for moderators, making their job much easier.Yes we have every intention on moving to 2.0 once it is finalized. Quote
havnblast Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 the new ibplanet has some nice skins - www.invisionize.com -- they redid the entire site and they have quick previews of skins available - they got a really nice mactastica skin for a Mac look - I just installed that skin on one of my forums and looks great - did some editing to it and super. Take a peek. Quote
Arena2045 Posted June 9, 2004 Author Posted June 9, 2004 black.how about black?or charcoal.i'm not joking; there are many good black xp themes on the 'net. But this is not XP. beggars can't be choosers Quote

Adding skins only takes 1 minute than change out the forum logo to the new skin. Have 10 skins to choose from or so, doesn't hurt anything.2.0 skins are gonna be a shortage for a while. I've got a test forum up of 2.0 and it's great, can't wait till it is final. Quote

Cluttermagnet Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 Hmmm-My choice was also blue. It made a big difference looking at Arena's four graphics in making my choice. The gray looks really poor in that setting. I had been running the standard purple. After looking at My Controls, I actually realized I'm tired of purple and went with the gray 'snow' scheme (until the changes are made). It actually looks good, as they did work in some blue as well. But the gray looks terrible in the new format. Are those graphics really representative? Quote
teacher Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 I could not find the graphics before when I voted. Looking at them again, I remember that they are even better looking than what we have now. How do you always top yourself? In reflection, I would vote for the sage. Simply because it would match "Scot" in that it reminds me of the part of the world where most Scots live! I could even go with the lilac, but I think my presonal use will be the last one on the list - just a hint of color!Julia Quote

I've got a test forum up of 2.0 and it's great, can't wait till it is final. I recall it... VIVIDLYI had changed my theme to one of those that was offered at that time.It also came with different smilies. Unfortunately...The ones you chose as you composed a post, weren't the ones that displayed after clicking "Add Reply"For instance...Choosing a for the "Post Icon", became a "Puke Face" once postedA while composing, became a once posted.Considering how difficult it can be at times to discern the intent of written words...Having Emoticons get jumbled like that would only magnify potential misunderstanding Perhaps this glitch has been remedied...But I agree with Arena2045 that... The fewer things we have here that may be a source of potential problems... THE BETTER Quote
havnblast Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 hmmmm guess that is not what I was talking about - these are just skins - doesn't change smilies or any internal features just the outside look and feel - otherwise all is identical. Quote

Guess I should have made the distinction between a "Theme" and a "Skin" Quote
RobertM Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 I cast my vote for sage/green, but I wouldn't mind blue, either. In fact, until this thread, I always thought the skin was blue. (Me = colorblind.) And I wouldn't mind the gray one that much, either, but maybe only because it fits in so well with Safari in the screenshot. I think it's just a little too gray, though, so I'd rather go with green or blue. Or purple, since I apparently don't know the difference. Quote
ibe98765 Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 I can't understand why so few people like the beautiful lilac color (which I voted for). How about some more exotic choices? Maybe fuchsia, azure, beryl, raspberry or gooseberry for instance? Quote
SonicDragon Posted June 19, 2004 Posted June 19, 2004 i still vote for black, or charcoal.Humm, that might be cool. Not very warm to new people though Quote
