crp
and kudos to zdnet http://www.zdnet.com/android-lollipop-users-warn-of-unusable-devices-after-upgrading-7000035977/ for at least putting out that their own company gave a glowing review of something the masses has found just does not work. but since it is ggle and ggle knows and does everything that is best for its customers (including removing apps you purchased and precluding re-installing) this will just get a pass. imagine if msft had done something like this ... (yes, that last line was snark)
securitybreach
It works perfectly. I have updated to Lollipop on 3 devices, am a member of a huge Nexus Community on G+ and have a few friends that have upgraded to Lollipop and I have not heard of a single person with a unusable device. I cannot believe they stooped so low and flat out lied.
securitybreach
I just searched and their the only ones reporting that besides some forum questions.
securitybreach
Granted it is a little slower on the 2012 Nexus 7 model but that is because it is an old device with only 1gb of ram. I upgraded mine and it is a little bit laggy but as soon as you turn down the animation a little from (1.0 to 0.5), it works fluidly. I think they are just spreading FUD on behalf of another company. alphaomega
My experience with Android 5.0 Lollipop on a Nexus 7 (2012) has not been a positive one. I installed the OTA update and the tablet became very unresponsive. Turned off animations and limited background processes to 4. System would still slow to a crawl on occasion. Ended up doing a factory reset and things are much better but I'm still experiencing a slowdown on occasion. e.x. on the lock screen it sometimes takes a couple of seconds before it responds to a tap or swipe. A couple of seconds does not sound like much but when you tap and it takes one...one...thousand...two...one...thousand to respond you notice it. I used Bing and while there were post about some people with older Nexus 7 tablets having problems, it certainly doesn't appear to me that Lolipop has any more than what one should expect with a new OS release. Nowhere near what msft had with Win 8. And with Android, I can backup my current ROM, install the new one, and if I have problems with the new one, restore the saved ROM, all in about 30 minutes. Try doing that with ANY ms product. Edited November 21, 2014 by lewmur
