Jeber
So recently I picked up a gently used Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet running Windows 8.1. Even though I love and frequently use my Nexus 7, I figured I would like to see what another OS on a tablet could do. This is my first exposure to Windows 8. It's also the first time I've used Windows on anything but a traditional desktop and laptop. I haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet. Before I break something, anyone have some advice? Some parts of it seem somewhat traditional while other parts are really odd.

Temmu
likewise. i suspect that 8 on a tablet will be right at home. everyone here knows how i feel about 8 on a production machine (useless.) goretsky
Hello, One primary use of tablets for me is as an e-reader, so you might want to look around the Windows Store for various apps. The Big 3 (Amazon Kindle, B&N Nook and Kobo) are there, so that's one use. If the Dell Venue 8 Pro does not have a full-size USB port, you can use a USB OTG Adapter to connect things like USB flash drives and other low-current devices. A Bluetooth keyboard and mouse might be useful, too, as might a case and screen protector. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky

Capt.Crow
Don't forget the mini projector attachment so reading in bed is easier if the pages are on the ceiling . A positive boon the the vision challenged . Hope I got that right

Capt.Crow
They sure are a piece of tech that takes gaming to a new level . But use it on an internal wall . Not on a window blind . You will get visitors else .
Temmu
that would be hilarious to play a first-person shooter projected against a partially open blind... ;D
