Guest LilBambi
StartPage is not a google skin. Your info is not passed to Google. And you can be totally anonymous when visiting websites in results too which is cool.

V.T. Eric Layton
Myeh... who cares about privacy? My Google masters need data to survive. The collective must have data. StartPage will be assimilated.

sunrat
We have more to fear than little ole Google intercepting our data.... Yep, the whole world wants your data from the government to the supermarket you shop at. I see more than a little of 1984/Brave New World coming to fruition. BTW Startpage is https, stores no cookies and doesn't send personal data to Google.
Guest LilBambi
Exactly! Startpage is awesome! It was also the first search engine to use full SSL/TLS for it's website.
securitybreach
I tried using Startpage and Ixquick(their base) but I always preferred google's layout plus I am logged into g+ so I get notifications on the top right hand side.
V.T. Eric Layton
COOL! That way Google can link your porn searching directly to your online identity (which isn't your real identity, but shhhhh... ). Any day we confuse the NSA is a good day. securitybreach
Yes but you choose what is seen by who. Everything is being recorded anyway but Google does resist the actual "legal" requests.
Capt.Crow
Just tried Startpage with a short string of code in the search box. Nee Naaa Neee Naaa , Whoop Whoop! Came up with some very strange "back doors" Took one luck and shut it down . Black tinted glass noisy rubber . Sinister vans . Otherwise a very presentable search engine . If a little wild
