raymac46
I have a 2012 version Nexus 7 that I let my grandkids play with. It's subject to the bumps and bruises a 5 year old can give it, and recently it fell (in its case) off the couch onto a carpeted floor. Hardly a life ending knock. After this I found I couldn't charge the beast though - even after a shutdown at the bootloader level. After 14 hours on the charger it was still showing 0% charge. I popped the back off, unplugged the battery and plugged it in firmly. The charge level immediately jumped up to 94% and all seems back to normal. So when all else fails, plug in the battery.

raymac46
After about 12 hours still working well. About 85% battery life is left.
