I am very confused by your post. Where are you typing in an email address? You indicate text version. Are you using a text browser to view the forum? To unsubscribe to a thread I go to the My Controls at the top of the page. Then I click on where it says Subscriptions on the left hand side. There I select either View Topics or View Forums and check the box of any I wish to unsubscribe. It works great. If you are using a text browser I would assume you would still go to the My Controls page and then to the Subscriptions.I don't use an email address anywhere. I log into the forum when I sign on and the forum recognizes me so I never have to use an email address. Are you trying to use an email address rather than your forum name and password???Julia

I think he's talking about the actual Scot's Newsletter Subscription Center page, where you can unsubscribe from the newsletter.- edited to add:I have only subscribed to the HTML version of the newsletter, but the past few issues I have received the newsletter twice, once in HTML and once in Text (albeit the text version was unreadable due to formatting issues). If I go to the page linked to above and try to unsubscribe from the Text version, I get the "You are not a member of any of the selected lists" message, as did Carls. Makes sense, because I never subscribed to the text version. The real mystery is, why am I receiving the newsletter twice?

Come to think of it I received three copies. One text and one html and I can't remember what the other one was. I unsubscribed to the html at one time but it did not take.Julia :D

All--There is nothing wrong with the subscription tools to the newsletter, or the list server.Everyone who subscribed to the HTML edition of Scot's Newsletter accidentally got two copies of the newsletter. I sent the HTML Edition to the HTML list. Then I accidentally sent the Text Edition to the HTML list. And, of course, I sent the Text Edition to the Text list. The first operation and the third operation are ok. But that second operation is a no-no.Even though that Text edition that HTML subscribers saw said "Text Edition" in the subject line, that didn't mean that you were suddenly subscribed to the Text list. You're still only subscribed to the HTML list. That's why the subscription tools may have been confusing. You don't need to unsubscribe from the Text edition. I just have to not make any more mistakes! The subscription page error message that Carls described is completely consistent with someone who tried to unsubscribe from the Text Edition who was not subscribed to it. In other words, it's normal. Carls needs to do nothing further to correct the problem. My apologies!-- Scot
