I love it! China is trying to strongarm MS into continuing to support XP because people can't afford Win 8, and continuing with XP will lessen the pirating of 8. HAHAHA! :hysterical: The really funny thing it China probably has the financial clout to get away with this.

So correct me if I'm wrong but the Chinese authorities' logic is this:

There are a boatload of Windows XP users in China and a lot of them are pirates. :pirate:

If the pirates lose support and have to upgrade they will move on to pirated copies of Windows 8. :pirate:

This is not a good result for the authorities so it's better for MSFT to support the XP pirates indefinitely. :teehee: :'( :whistling:

Maybe we could get pirated copies of this extended support. Just sayin'.

When I was in Vietnam, there were "IT guys" who would install XP for $US2. They will be seriously inconvenienced, or not. I wouldn't be surprised if they keep doing it for a few years.

There was malware on almost every shared hotel computer I saw there.

Part of the challenge of reading temmu's posts is the required decoding/interpretation involved.

No. Not a bad thing at all. It's kinda' like doing the word puzzles in the paper every morning; keeps the mind sharp and wards off early Alzheimer's. ;)
