And MS doesn't yet allow passwords longer than 16 characters. :(

oh shoot, I remember there being something about passwords being longer than 16 characters not actually being better and even worse. But can't remember what or where it was ... :dang:

Only if you try to remember them ...

no joke, I think that was it. Vast majority of people can not remember 16+ characters unless very easy to remember and hence to crack. So defeated the purpose.

Apparently 16 normal characters is sufficient.

basic 16-character passwords were the hardest to crack for a “powerful attacker.” After 10 billion guesses, only around 12 percent of the 16-character passwords had been cracked, compared to 22 percent of the comprehensive8 passwords and almost 60 percent of the basic8 passwords.
