I did a clean install and before this. I was able to to this drive on or off and Windows would see it. Now in order for Windows to see the drive I have to turn the drive on and then do a full restart. It then will see the drive even if I shut it off. Then if I want to restart I have to hit the restart button or the PC will not re boot. It is seen in the Bios. So if someone can tell me how to Fix this I will appreciate it. If not I can make it into a USB drive but it will be slower. Bios is up to date.

Thanks

No, If I turn it on and then reboot it wil so up in windows. This then gives me problems shutting down. It worked fine before I did the clean install. I have it on a USB port so it does not cause me any problems. The Image I did last night took 55 minutes in the USB with E-Sata it took about 20. I have a blank 1TB internal diask that I will use for imaging until this is sorted out.

Hello,

It sounds to me like some sort of driver involved in managing hot-plugging an eSATA connection is missing.

Since you just reinstalled Microsoft Windows, go ahead and run Windows Update to download and install all of the missing hotfixes, patches and updates for your operating system, followed by the device drivers for the various components from their respective manufacturers and see if that makes any difference.

Hello,

I had the same issue with my Asus P6T Deluxe V1 motherboard and solved it by using newer SATA drivers from Marvell Semiconductor.

What is the brand and model of the computer?

Sounds like a very nice gaming machine (as far as CPU and RAM go and video capabilities)!
