securitybreach
See (full compositing @ 1920x1080) I had to enable Composite through Control Panel--Desktop Settings.
securitybreach
Although for some reason, the login manager on LMDE is too big but as soon as you login; it goes back to the normal resolution I set.
securitybreach
Also, alt-ctrl is the hostkey to get your host's mouse back. You can install xserver-xorf-input-vmmouse in LMDE to have you mouse move between the host and the vm.
ichase
Great tips, looking like I might need to start over. The installation process has been stuck on setting hostname now for about 45 minutes. But progress is most definitely being made
securitybreach
Did you check the md5sum of the iso?
securitybreach
Well you already made the image, so just start on the second step I gave above.
ichase
Yes I did, can you not run VBox and QEMU at the same time?

securitybreach
Maybe no: Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Fedora.VT-x is being used by another hypervisor. (VERR_VMX_IN_VMX_ROOT_MODE). VirtualBox can't operate in VMX root mode. Please disable the KVM kernel extension, recompile your kernel and reboot (VERR_VMX_IN_VMX_ROOT_MODE). But you can multiple instances of each, just not together. KVM has two hypervisor mode (or virtualization management). One is qemu and another is KVM. When kvm_intel (or kvm_amd) is not loaded, KVM can still work on QEMU mode. But qemu alone seems much less effective then kvm. In this case, both KVM and VB can run at same time. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1618034&p=10097550#post10097550

securitybreach
Got the same error you did. This is because you cannot run both Vbox and Qemu at the same time. From above: KVM has two hypervisor mode (or virtualization management). One is qemu and another is KVM. When kvm_intel (or kvm_amd) is not loaded, KVM can still work on QEMU mode. ichase
Cool thing is, I don't need a gui app to run my QEMU VM's, I simply can add them to my OB Menu
