Guest LilBambi Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 For Windows or Macs, you can try out Postbox which is done by the original developers for Thunderbird. It's a bit different, has plugins and it's free to try, $9.95 to buy. Windows and Mac only so far. It still allows you to look at emails in Plain Text and you can disallow images inline. And many other great features. Windows Live Mail, but I think they just call it Mail now, is another free alternative for Windows. I don't and won't use it. But many like it. Pegasus Mail is another free (not open source) email client (they do accept donations), that I used before I moved to the original Thunderbird Beta. I really liked it a lot. They are all about viewing emails in a safe manner, and allow you to disallow images inline, and reading in plain text. They also have a commercial product that's free Mercury/32/info if you prefer. V.T. Eric Layton Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Is Eudora still around? I liked it way back in my Widoze daze. Er, scratch that... Eudora is now just a Moz T-bird shell --> https://wiki.mozilla.org/Eudora_OSE 7 Best Free Email Clients --> http://www.ilovefree...or-outlook.html 1 Quote
zlim Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Years ago, when I had an email client, I used Pocomail http://www.pocosystems.com/home/index.php?option=content&task=category§ionid=2&id=7&Itemid=25 I haven't used an email client since Windows 2000. I now strictly use webmail. 1 Quote

crp Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Eudora is still around, not just as Penelope. Plenty of places to find it. I use to use Pegasus but I do a lot less lists emails and do a lot more browser based to the IMAP server at work and home. Though I have just started using Thunderbird for some work related email accounts. And don't forget the paid version of POP Peeper . 1 Quote

Regards, Aryeh Goretsky I just finished a two week trial with Sylpheed and I would recommend skipping it if ease of use is high on the list. I also had major problems in getting it to work with a modern SMTP sending port, which was finally the deal breaker. 1 Quote
zlim Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Is FoxMail still operational? I know it is the number one, or was email client in China. (It has nothing to do with Firefox. It had it's name when Mozilla's browser was named Phoenix). Quote
