With GNOME 3.6, polkit and networkmanager moving to [extra], ConsoleKit has now

been removed from the repositories. Any package that previously depended on it

now relies on systemd-logind instead. That means that the system must be booted

with systemd to be fully functional.

In addition to GNOME, both KDE and XFCE are also affected by this change.

We all knew this was coming, isn't that why we started messing around with systemd.

I am beginning to think resistance is futile. I have 3 boxes running Arch, Lappy, desktop, and server and really do not want to convert them to systemd. BUT, with that being said, it is looking more and more like Arch is moving in that direction so it looks as if I will be reading back through Eric's tread on how he went full systemd. What are the benifits? Not really seeing anything wrong with inet.

Longer I wait to more painful it's going to be.

ON ward and UP ward
