Apple's new iPhone 4S is running through its battery at a prodigious rate, according to reports on the company's own support forum.

 

A long thread dedicated to the problem now has more than 2,300 messages, runs 160 pages and has been accessed more than 160,000 times, all huge numbers for an Apple support discussion.

As always, the more services you turn on, such as location services or data services, the more battery will be used. This is a basic thing for all phones.

 

The dual core processor is probably not helping. I have a charger at work, so I don't have issues. I like to stream and downlod big stuff while on 3G (I am grandfathered in the unlimited data plan).

I am too, and it's going to be a truly awful day if (when?) they take it away. Hopefully their new "slow down the top 5%" will be enough so they don't feel the need to take it away.
