I need to check if the LOGNAME variable contains a period and if it does, to assign the value of LOGNAME to NEW_VARIABLE with the period replaced with an underscore. I had no luck in my on line search. Anyone know how to do this?btw: why is procmail still be using used ? it hasn't been updated in decades!
