genegold Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 This is about an HP4M. I'm getting three "columns" of three tiny dots spaced down the page. Each column is offset to the other, that is, each starts a different distance from the top, but the space between dots vertically is always 3.75". Horiztonally, the columns are spaced across the page, starting 1/2" from the left edge. I've shaken and wiped the toner cartridge but that didn't solve it. Where should I look next? Thanks. Quote
nlinecomputers Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Could be serveral things. Toner could have broken off anywhere in the paper path. Office Depot or other office supply stores sell sheets of Laser printer cleaner that might get this up. The other possibility is that your fuser is going bad. It is not heating up properly and is not melting the toner on the paper. Does your printouts appear to flake off or crack on large graphics? Quote

Note that these dots are hardly the size of small wordprocessor bullets, and there are about 9 or so total. Since one column is out in the left margin, it does affect appearance. Like with resumes. nlinecomputers Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 If you change the toner cart does it go away? Are the dots evenly spaced, like they might be on a roller? Quote
