tforsman Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Very COOL, Tomas... and just in time. I'll be playing around in Foresight in the next week or so. Yeah :)I hope the tutorial is understandable, tried to explain everything. Even what commands do :)Will come up with some more tutorial tomorrow that can be very useful to know about Foresight.Time to hit the bed Quote
V.T. Eric Layton Posted December 3, 2010 Author Posted December 3, 2010 If you'll just continue to edit/add to your original posts in this thread, I will split off the conversation posts later and STICKY this post in the Bruno's Classroom area in the Standard Tutorials section. Quote
ChipDoc Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Excellent idea, Eric! And thanks, Tomas. Despite your doubts, I find it clearly understandable. I think I'll play with Foresight too and see what it has to offer - thanks for all your hard work, Tomas! Quote
securitybreach Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Very nice and informative post Tomas!!!This looks very interesting and I think I may download Foresight and try it out. I am off Sunday and Monday, so I will give it a go then. As far as how you wrote it, I found it very easy to follow and I also think it should be added to the Tutorials section.Great job and thanks a lot for the awesome post Quote
V.T. Eric Layton Posted December 4, 2010 Author Posted December 4, 2010 OK, the main posts (by Tomas) are now linked in the Standard Tutorials area. I've edited the original post asking folks to comment here rather than on that thread. I have to leave the thread open so that Tomas can continue to add to it.Tomas, once you're finished with that Conary tutorial, let me know. I'll then lock the thread. Thanks very much for your educational posts. We LOVE tutorials! Quote
tforsman Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 The ones that actually loves to test out the newest version out there, should give a try to package applications :)After approx one hour after banshee released 1.9.1, we announced the release of Banshee 1.9.1 http://www.foresightlinux.se/blog/2010/12/...1-9-1-released/not done yet about tutorial, but soon i hope Quote
V.T. Eric Layton Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 Thanks, Tomas. The tutorial looks like it's going well. That will remain a part of Bruno's Classroom, I assure you. Quote
Jesse Zhang Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 (edited) Hi there,The initial configurations may seem a bit difficult to setup. So I have done a small tool (https://github.com/zhangsen/fldev) to ease this process. It's not yet received into Foresight Linux officially, so I appreciate any testing and feedback :)You can follow this page (https://github.com/zhangsen/fldev/wiki/how-...onal-repository) to create a personal repository. A personal repo is useful for trying out packaging before you get commit access to the Foresight repo Edited December 18, 2010 by Jesse Zhang Quote
