abarbarian Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 You can get a totally FREE and legal version of Acronis from the Seagate site only they call it Disc Wizard.http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?loca...000dd04090aRCRDThey also provide a video tutorial on cloning using the software. It shows a laptop but you can use your nounce to follow it for a desktop.http://support.seagate.com/kbimg/flash/laptop/laptop.htmlThe program is Acronis and you can make a live CD from it but you need to do that on a Windows pc. I'm almost sure that you can run the program from the live cd on any pc. It only supports some of the GNU/Linux file types for backup purposes but you can backup almost any file type by using the "sector to sector" option.I have been using Acronis on a dual boot system for over three years now and it has made life so much easier.
