PeeJay
G'Day allI am thinking of buying an old computer that is going very cheap. All I know at this stage is that it is Win 95 - owner does not know memory or CPU type. What FREE programs are there that will let me test to see if memory and CPU are working properly and anything else the group thinks I should test?( I already have Berlac Advisor so I can see what is in the guts of it when I get there next week.)Thanks for any info. Rons
You may wish to try Aida instead. Not only will it analyze the PC components but it also has a mini burn in testor.

Jeber
I'll second Rons suggestion...I find Aida offers more specific info on memory type, etc. But Belarc Advisor is also worth running. Depending on which brand of HD it has, you may also want to see if you can beg or borrow a diagnostic floppy from the same manufacturer (they come with the drive when purchased) and check out the HD for problems, too.
