Some security paper somewhere advised me that there was a problem with Direct X, and I should download an update. I wandered through Win Update, found it, and downloaded.Shortly thereafter, I began receiving a message that unrecognized software had replaced recognized software, and W2K needed to fix it. However, when I loaded the OS disc, the OS didn't seem to know what to do.After several days of clicking off the message multiple times per day, and trying to figure out what I had done, the download of the Direct X update, and the Euro conversion tool, came to mind.I eliminated the ECT as a source of the problem because it shouldn't be fooling around with Sys32. However, Direct X could do it.I went back to the MS site and downloaded the complete Direct X 9.0.It has been 3 days now with no annoying message. FYI
