ross549
Right now I am tweaking Mozilla to suit my needs (necessary with ANY OS install), but 1.4 is giving me some guff. I need to whip it into shape. :lol:1. Most pages look good, but the SF forums text is far too small. I can set text size to 120%, which looks good, but I have to do it every time I start the browser. Not cool.2. In wiin**** (a nasty word here, I am sure), I had my most commonly used bookmarks on the bar right below the address box. Links bar?? I sthat what it is called? Anyway, I usually navigated to the site I wanted, and simply dragged the link to the bar. When I drag in Drake, no joy. I can make a bookmark with it , but cannot get it on the link bar. Bruno
Hi RossFor the fonts you shout check the preferences and set the minimum font to 10 or 12 pixels . . . . ( appearance > Fonts > Minimum font )The bookmarks, give me a sec to boot in Mandrake and I will check. Bruno
Bruno
Hi RossOn the side bar I press "add" and get a dialogbox, I make a new "folder" ( close the dialog ) and can then drag links from the page into that new folder, it automatically adds the bookmark in that folder . . . Hope this is the info that you were looking for . . Bruno
ross549
I founf the Mozilla calls it the Personal toolbar... sits directy below the address bar and stretches across the screen.
Bruno
Correct you can use the side bar for bookmarks or the "personal toolbar" ( or any other bar you can add directly under your addressbar ), but I think that dragging links works only on the sidebar. ross549
I still can't seem to get any links on the personal toolbar.
Bruno
Ross,You have to add the links first to a folder in your bookmarks ( or with dragging them to the sidebar or with rightclick and "add" . . . then you do "manage bookmarks" and select the folder, then from the menubar in that dialog "view" > "set as personal toolbar folder" and that whole folder will be made to your "personal toolbar" . . you can also remove the old one if you end up with two "personal toolbars" in the same way . . Bruno
Charlie I don´t think there is a big gain upgrading to 1.4 ( Mandrake 9.2 is just days away ) If I were you I would wait. But if you really want to: I think Ross uninstalled the current version first . . . you will have to ask Ross exactly how he did install the new version. teacher
Why not go to your Mandrake Control Center and then to Remove Software. Remove your old version then to the Add Software and install the new version?
Bruno
The new version is .tar.gz . . can´t be installed through the MCC . . . . but you can always put the old one back . . B) Bruno
