RandomBox
Why is it that when I go to the microsoft site to search within the "Search the Knowledge Base" (via http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...h;EN-US;KBHOWTO ) I get a totally different interface in IE6 than I get using MozillaFB?I sense something fishy here but I am at a loss for an explanation.Unfortunately, the user interface is much neater and cleaner with IE6 when compared with the GUI shown in MozFB.Even if the above link is inserted in MozFB, it defaults back to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx !I recall that there used to be a simple setting in the older versions of Mozilla to declare itself as any browser that you wanted to. But I don't know how to change it in MozFB: Is it the "general.useragent.vendor" setting that requires to be changed to emulate IE6 when MozFB is rendering pages? GolfProRM
RandomBox,You can download a very quick UserAgent switcher that will "fool" the UA catchers on websites...http://texturizer.net/firebird/extensions/...gent%20SwitcherThis will give you a menu option to change back and forth on the fly
RandomBox
Yip, GolfProRM, that extension does the trick!Thank you for your lightning fast response! But it does pose a dilemna: *How would one know to change the "user.agent" if one did not know that there is a page rendering problem? *Especially, if one does not do an A/B comparison to determine that there is a GUI rendering difference??I guess this is a rhetorical question and really does not require an answer!
