marcos9999 Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 This is an intermittent problem and I think it started after I created a guess account which I have already disactivated. When I close my laptop lid it will not fall asleep as it is suppose to. Does anyone know why is doing that? Quote

marcos9999 Posted September 9, 2009 Author Posted September 9, 2009 Did you by chance update your video drivers? No sure. I don't have the automatic update turned on. Should I? I found that the updates can sometimes bring more head ache than than not. Quote

I found that the updates can sometimes bring more head ache than than not.I don't have automatic update turned on either, but once a month I do go to Windows update and select all the critical and important (I read the details of the important updates first to make sure I want/need it) updates, and allow them to download and install. I never download or install hardware updates from MS/Windows update. If I want/need to get updated drivers for the hardware devices on my PC/s I go to the manufacturer's site and download them from their site.I agree with Striker, it sounds like a power management issue. I will fuss with the PM one more time. A clue: It started after I created a guess account for my niece. After she left I deleted (it never worked right) and Vista started to have the insomnia problems. Another clue: It says that there is somebody else logged on (they will lose their data...) when I log off.Thank you one more time. Edited September 9, 2009 by marcos9999 Quote
